Beasts in my Belfry

Admirable, alluring and enjoyable is how I would describe Bahar Dutt's blog, ' Beasts in my Belfry'. I still remember how I came across this blog. When I typed environment in one of the search engines I found it right there on the third page. At first more than the subject it was the author, Bahar Dutt, who caught my attention but later when I started  reading the posts that's when I realized there is more to the blog than Ms.Dutt or her sibling (Barkha Dutt). A time when blogs were new and complicated to me is when I found this blog to be easy to read as I was personally able to relate to the subject, but the catchy thing is anyone can ! The way the posts have been written is interesting and informative and also promises to keep you awestruck with the facts and opinions. Coming from the environment editor of CNN IBN its a sin to expect nothing other than green words of wisdom.

'Burning Too Bright - And The Banality of Environment Reporting'  is the exact description of the coverage of environment issues by the media. Its my favorite post because she speaks not just her view point but represents us who care to know more about our environment. Her writing style is simple and basic which makes the subject interesting, comfortable to read and understand the subject better. Also the thing that caught my attention was unlike other blogs this one is not about layout, designs, flashy colors or bombastic language it was purely about the content which is the need of the hour. For someone who has been  closely following the Copenhagen summit Ms.Dutt has more.'From Copenhagen: Chaos and cold cloud over climate talks' is like a narrative feature in which we get to know the other side, the journalistic side of the summit which is definitely my favorite for obvious reasons.

No better metaphor to compare the feeling of accidentally finding Ms.Dutt's blog to the feeling of entering a library and finding the book I always wanted to read.

  1. There is an inconsistency in Bahar Dutt's title. I'm very sure she's not married, so it Ms. Bahar Dutt as against Mrs. Bahar Dutt (in the first para).

P.S. This comment should not be counted for evaluation.
